The Flu Finally Does Me In!
In our school at St. T's the Flu has been running around. Some staff members and a couple of kids have gotten it. I luckily had avoided it. That all changed yesterday!
In the morning I felt great.. I went up to the Retreat Center in the morning with a friend to drop off some furniture and stuff to use for summer camp.. (never too early to start thinking camp !). Anyway I got back to my Office at St T's around lunch time.
After a bit I started feeling a little sick in the afternoon.. bones aching, stomach ache, fever...etc. Finally after realizing I wasn't going to get anything done at the Office I went home and laid around on the couch for a bit and after checking my temperature and seeing I had a 102 fever.. I thought I should just make Kell, Abby and Emi dinner and go to bed.
As I was in the kitchen I started to get a little sick.. the room started to spin..and next thing I knew I wasn't standing anymore! Actually .. lol.. it took me a few seconds to realize, after the tingling sensation in my arms and legs wore off, that I was laying flat on back on my kitchen floor staring at my ceiling... in fact I had passed out and fell backwards like a sack of potatoes, falling into my garbage can in the kitchen, and smacking my head on the floor where I lay.
ANYWAY.. Paramedics, Police , Ambulance... a trip to lovely scenic Rahway Hospital.. an EKG , Catscan, Blood work and 6 hours in the emergency room last night I was told I am severely dehydrated and have this viral flu thing.
I was told to take a couple of days off and rest.. I laughed at the Doc and told them I would take tomorrow, Sunday, off! So I canceled my High School Youth Group meeting for Sunday, ran to the office to grab a few things.. and figure I'll sit around the house and take it easy.
Hopefully the Flu will leave me as quickly as it came and visited me! I gotta get ready for a Youth Group Pasta Night on Ash Wednesday night.. and our Youth Groups annual Snow Football game on the Ski Trip this coming weekend!
Well.. let me go take some aspirin for this headache, and start drinking some more water again.
Until next time...
